Okja uses narrative techniques to highlight the ideology that animals are sentient beings who are capable of feeling emotions. One of these techniques is music.

Some examples are the fast, happy music to excite the audience for the thrilling adventure or the use of slow, sad music to appeal for the audience’s sympathy.
